I read at a website (Forgot which one) and they talked all about Nismo's and what they could do. Well, a company that tunes up cars called Trust got a Nismo and souped it up to 1100HP! They said it can EASILY keep up with the McLaren F1! I wouldn't doubt this because Nismo boasted that the "Normal" 400R can beat a Ferrari F50 in a race. Nismo 4 Ever!

They tuned and boosted the standerd rb25dett to 400hp(thats where 400r comes from). This as statedis not extreme given the tuning potential of the standerd skyline engine. nearly all major japenese tuning houses (blitz, apex, trust, greddy, hks etc) have achieved over 1000hp albeit with internal engine mods aswell as major boosting. each company all has there own claims about what they can do with the skyline as the more horsepower they get = more publicity for their products and therefore more sales. skyline is the ultimate japenese performance car its technology and racing pedigree is only begining to be matched now ten years after its initial development and thats by extravegent euros like porsche which are significantly more expensive

Lots of ppl go on about skylines, and how good they are after mods etc. I like skylines, there are heaps in Sydney, but to say that skyline is better than Mclaren or porsches, just bcuase it can be tuned to 1000 hp or whatever is stupid. There are tuned porsches that will kill the skyline on the track, eg. Gemballa 650 which has the fastest lap time for street legal car... Compare tuned cars to tuned cars, here are some tuned examples that will blow the modded skyline: 1. But I do agree with you tho, to say that the Skyline is better than the McLaren is just plain dumb. But I do prefer a Skyline than a Ferrari. Australia has a ProCar (production car) racing series, consisting of ferraris, porsches, lambo, vipers, nsx etc.. would like to see skyline there.. Re: 1100 HP! Everybody seems to over look a little car company called TVR. Maybe because it doesnt yell the loudest and try for the speed record, but I bet the speed 12 would break the record if they tried. 2200 pounds with 800hp and 650 tourq. think about it
