I'll post this in this forum since it's an Ecotec engine. New Four-Cylinder Drag Racing World Record Set at 6.71 Drag racing just isn’t what it used to be these days, but records are still being set with some more noteworthy than others. This is one of those records, as an Ecotec-powered four-cylinder drag car has set a record for fastest four-cylinder quarter mile with a 6.71 @ 207 mph. Tuned by Nicolas Brunet and driven by Carl Brunet, the record was set up in Canada at Napierville Dragway and was backed up with a 6.75 @ 205 mph. For those who keep track of the world’s fastest four-cylinders, the fastest one that we were aware of was Brent Rau’s 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse that had previously gone 6.82. Infamous Scion racer Chris Rado has also been in the 6-second territory with a 6.87 in his drag-spec tC. For now though, it looks like an Ecotec-powered car can claim the record.
