2. well if it's not recorded in stereo I don't think there's much you can do...

3. No, you're shit out of luck.
That must hurt.

8. I think he means making 2 tracks out of a 1 track, which would sound the exact same, but can be edited.

9. well...i recorded some music through my line-in of my computer with a jackplug connected to my turntables and the music coming through the speakers of my radio were just stereo, but when i finished recording the music on my computer was mono. i think i didn't connect one of the cables correctly, resulting in mono

10. You can't really turn back that mistake

11. crap. ah well, at least i know it's my own fault and it's not the turntables/nor my soundcard.

12. yo can duplicate the mono channel so it comes outta both speakers. Joint stereo will do that without much of an increase in size

13. taperecorder?

14. meh i will record it tomorrow again. IN STEREO

15. What's the point of mono anyways?

18. it's in mono because he #$%#ed up..almost all mics are mono. stereo is actually incredibly complicated.

19. Sometimes my sis and I share headphones/plugs in the bus/train, like, she the left one and mine in my right ear. Makes it incredibly annoying to listen to sgt peppers that way lol.

20. complicated?

21. uh, yeah. to get it to sound anything other than retarded is a ton of work.

22. oh, you mean remastering from mono to stereo? yeah, that's a rather time consuming thing.

23. Stereo means more than just one speaker - you get two different streams (1 per speaker) of different information. If recorded in mono - completely out of luck.

24. ...and not representative of the original track. You usually get some form of ghosting on the original sound stream, which doesn't give you the ability to fully separate the channels. Sounds bad.

25. not even remastering, just mastering in stereo itself is a #%!@. that's why professional studio time costs so much.
