Rotary Engines are Great!

Discussion in '1989 Mazda RX-7 GTUs' started by xero890, Aug 10, 2002.

1. All my friends get pissed at me when I tell them how awsome the rotary engine is. I brag about the power from the small size, and the only thing they do is start comparing my 2nd Gen to exotic cars saying how crappy my car is! Well if exotics are the only car they compare it to, then RX-7s rule!!!
2. Re: Rotary Engines are Great!

I agree. The rotary engines though are just a small Cesna airplace engine that they upgrade to car specifics. So, all you gotta do is tell your friends that you have an airplane engine in your RX-7 and I guarantee that their jaws drop to their knees (providing that they don't know what the engine is).

I believe that there are no better engine when it comes to tuning it a bit, ive seen 1300 twin rotors develop way in excess of 550HP.
5. Re: Rotary Engines are Great!

Greatest engine ever created, the only people that come close to making a better sounding engine is Ferrari (my SECOND favorite company of all time) with the V8 F355. But the rotary to me is still the best ever engine...

very true, N/A 13B's have 160bhp stock, in a 1.3 liter engin. someone out there has a 12,000rpm N/A 13B! dun know who, but I would surely like my 13B to redline at 12,000 haha

13b turbs can produce in excess of 800 hp when set up properly. this is drag set up on race gas (100 octane) not very streetable tho.
8. Re: Rotary Engines are Great!

Shows you don't know wtf you are talking about.

NO rotary runs on high octane gas. Even the 4-rotor 787B at LeMans ran on pump gas.
