They say it looks better with a bodykit but thats it. And its not consistently quicker than the Clubsport down the quarter mile.

No in the RACV Royal Auto magazine they did a review of the TS50 vs the Clubsport R8 and that they said that the TS50 was more consistent in putting the power to the ground as the Clubsports harder suspension made it more difficult for the car to put power too the ground in uneven surfaces. Plus thay rated the TS50 an overall better car giving it 4 and a half stars to 4.

  4. Re: TS50 is better!

    hsv looks better

  5. Re: TS50 is better!

Hey mate the Clubsport R8 isn't 5.7 litres of pure holden grunt, it actually 5.7 litres of chevy grunt. Any way the TS50 does the 1/4 in 14.8 to the clubsports 14.9. And the TS50's stopping distance from 80km/h is 29.2 to 29.7. And in the racv magazine they rated the TS50's handeling 5 stars to 4. They rated it an overall better car than the Clubsport and how can you say that the clubsport is more of a blokes car, I'd say they'd both be blokes cars.

  6. Re: TS50 is better!

Both a bloke's car? C'mon. What do you see when you look at an R8? Pure undefined evil. Enough to strike fear into the hearts of the brave. And what does Ford's equivilant look like? A piece of pansy crap. I agree both cars are evenly matched in specs, but would you rather cruise in a growling beast or something off the set of Sesame Streeet? How can you possibly even compare the two? HSV are da bomb!

And the Clubsport is more comfortable as a result of this

The ride would be worse with a harder suspension. A T series Falcon would shit all over this.

  10. Re: TS50 is better!

Yeah, but the Ford is still better. Good to see people can recognise that fact.

I don't drive in situations where I would need the extra handling of the Ford over the HSV, however I still put my foot down occasionally.

  12. Re: TS50 is better!

The cars are pretty evenly matched nowadays. It only comes down to your personal preference.

They make the cars sound so different when they are very similar in ways.

  14. Re: TS50 is better!

I've never read anyone saying that Holdens are "piles of shit" and having evidence to back it up.
Especially people in these forums, they say "Fords Suck" or "Holdens Suck" but don't give a reason. They say shit like "they fall apart" or "blow up". It really pisses me off when people do that. Its good to see some people that can make mature comments.

Another thing I hate is when people say for example I have owned one Commodore, the engine broke down so all Commodores must have engines that break down. Those things can be used to support arguments, but all cars aren't the same.

  16. Re: TS50 is better!

I've heeard a lot more holden fans say something like that, and i haven't heard a ford fan follow it up with that the whole range has that same problem. My mate has never driven a ford, and he says they are all crap, unreliable ugly no power and no nothing, the only reason in these forums i usually swing to fords way, is because i hear a lot more of the holden people sayign of how fords suck rather then ford saying holdens do.

Not all holden people are one-eyed, but there are more of them around then one eyed ford people.
I heard one mate says that the VY is ugly, another says the fords crap and he's only seen a picture of it and once (in the paper)

It would be good to see a forum where Holden and Ford people can appreciate each others cars, and say the good things, not the bad things, and also not BS lies.

We should be sticking up for the australian car community. They are going to export monaros as pontiac gtos as you should all know. hopefully one day australian cars will be able to show our strength to the world.

Value for money, reliable, practical and not gutless cars.

  17. Re: TS50 is better!

I can see where you are coming from, but look at it percentage wise. I really dont think there is more one eyed Holden fans than there are Ford fans percentage wise. Because of the fact that Holden probably has a larger amount of fans, you are obviously going to have more one eyed ones arent you? And if your friend thinks that Ford's dont have power, just pull out a spec sheet and show him.

  18. Re: TS50 is better!

We can't stop arguing can we?? First we decide that Ford AND Holden make good cars (I also think so) and now you guys have started arguing about which fan is more one-eyed?????

The answer is obvious - Holden Fans!!!

Seriously, all the people I argue with at school about Fords/Holdens say "Fords are crap" and when I ask why they can't think of a reason. I think this is because of HSV's image. They seem to have more young fans who seem to know nothing about cars. I'm not saying that all Holden fans are this ignorant but some people just watch the V8 Supercars and decide that Holden are better just because HRT are winning.

  19. Re: TS50 is better!

I think you will find that the people at school who cant justify why they think Holdens are good arent really Holden fans...they just say they like Holdens because "everyone else does", that and Holden winning V8 supercars.

There are 2 types of fans I believe, the type like I just mentioned and the type that like Holden for a reason and can justify that reason.

  20. Re: TS50 is better!

I think that you are right. no, i know that you are right, but it's like that for every company too. ford + holden, both great cars, when you say which one's better it comes down to personal opinion, i love the VX over the AU across the whole range, but i usually find myself still sliding across to the fords side in arguements. However not if the arguement is completely false, like holden are shit or anything.

Both cars are good. I think the BA will be a very good thing for Australian cars, the VZ will be too, tho it will be more expensive due to their newer (and much better) Engine.

  21. Re: TS50 is better!

I hope BA is good too, one to keep my cousin in the job at Ford hehe, and 2, to keep Holden honest and on their toes and something to aim for.

  22. Re: TS50 is better!

Competition is always a good thing, both Ford & Holden will keep producing better and better cars!!

  23. Re: TS50 is better!

Maybe even Ford + Holden could compete against european/japanese/american and any other competitors that may be out there. To prove Australia as a place to find the greatest and practical rwd sedans. Ohh boy I would love to live to see that

  24. Re: TS50 is better!

Well in my opinion Australia is doing that right now.

  25. Re: TS50 is better!

I hope the Falcon & Commodore will be exported to Europe so they can see the great cars we make.
