Fast estate cars deliver a mouth-watering combination of a powerful engine up front with a huge boot out back, making these cars among the best all-rounders money can buy.

Hybrid sports cars are becoming more impressive vehicles every time a new one is announced. Clearly the Tesla S is a sporty car with that ludicrous launch control and instantaneous torque. Today, hybrid, diesel, and electric vehicles that merge “greenness” with “fun-to-drive” come in almost every style, category, size, and price range. Hybrids will no longer be confined to the driveways of Toyota Prius drivers attempting to squeeze the most mileage out of a gallon of fuel, especially when companies like Porsche build the like of the hybrid 918 Spyder and McLaren the insane P1 with it’s electric unit and big twin turbo V8. Good time.
Hypercar
What’s the difference between a supercar and a hypercar? For us, the term hypercar basically means the top tier of supercars. The one percenters. All hypercars are supercars, but not all supercars are hypercars. It is really hard for a supercar to qualify as a hypercar. Million-dollar price tags, no compromises, gorgeous design and unparalleled performance that can’t be beat. Almost every aspect of each car is an advancement in car technology and puts hypercars (clearly) into the top spots of automotive world. Hypercars are the stick against which all cars are meant to be measured.

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a “sports car (sportscar) is a small, usually two seater, two door automobile designed for spirited performance and nimble handling”. Makes sense, but it is missing something in this day and age where lines have blurred as technology advances and even everyday cars seem sporty. A GTR or Corvette are clearly sports cars, but what about an E63 AMG Mercedes that is heavy, carries the whole family and has a 500+hp engine? Ultimately, ordinary cars are engineered for comfort, fuel economy, passenger space, and cargo space. They’re designed to be “do everything reasonably well” cars. Some may come with sport styling or ‘sport packages’ or even massive engines. But, it’s a token gesture, a nod to the sports car. True sports cars will have minimal cargo space, minimal seating and performance characteristics that drive most of the decision making car companies went through to build it.
Sports Sedan
A sports sedan is designed to look and feel “sporty”, offering the motorist more connection with the driving experience, while providing the comfort and amenities expected of a luxury vehicle. For drivers (Dads with kids) who want the exhilaration of a sports car but prefer ample rear seat passenger room, sports sedans are a popular choices, with cars like the BMW M3 or AMG C63 on top of most people’s list. With monster engines, firmer suspension systems and more aggressive looks, sport sedans are a great addition to a family garage.
Sporty Compact Cars
Small sports cars are so much fun. Compact and relatively affordable this is how most of us first experience the supercar bug in real life for ourselves. Sporty compact cars like the Mazda MX-5, Mini Cooper, Volkswagen GTI and Subaru WRX ooze real-life thrills, delivering engaging (and sometimes extreme) performance and driving dynamics with nice styling and the ability to make modifications, they are awesome in our eyes.
Supercar
Supercars are the best of the best in the automotive world. The best performance, technology, design and price. A race-car level of performance is just the first hurdle and not the only qualifier. Today it seems people are quick to apply the supercar moniker to a wide range of cars (the Nissan GT-R and Corvette Z06 are not supercars folks). A car can’t simply be exotic and expensive either, to warrant the supercar title. A Ferrari California is no supercar. Supercars are mystic creatures . They have an air of mystery. “You just know it when you see it” rings very true.
SUV
Most people are surprised when they find out that Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) have been around since the 1930s. They truly grew in popularity during the mid-1990s. Traditionally, SUVs were built on truck frames, though more recently they are built more like cars. SUVs harnesses utility attributes and powerful engine performance. Luxury and sports car makes are increasingly launching SUVs to their well-heeled clients. Range Rover, Porsche and BMW have been in the SUV game for years. Now, a newer and even sportier supercar makers are getting involved. Bentley and Lamborghini come to mind, both launching SUVs soon.
