Legends of Riverside Festival (2010) – Riverside II to Honor Shelby

The second annual Legends of Riverside racing reunion and film festival has named Carroll Shelby as its special guest of honor for the March 26ยญยญโ€“28, 2010, event at the Riverside International Raceway Museum. Although he earned his spurs as a champion driver, Shelby is best known for his creation of the Cobra sports car, and both he and the car enjoyed great success at Riverside.

โ€œObviously weโ€™re very pleased that Mr. Shelby is going to join us for this yearโ€™s event,โ€ said Doug Magnon, who, with his father Ray, founded the museum dedicated to the fabled facility. โ€œHis name is synonymous with the great racing that went on at Riverside. Weโ€™re all very much looking forward to this special night spending time with this true motor sports icon.โ€

In addition to Shelby, a star-studded roster of veteran racers will once again be on hand as invited guests, and more previously unseen racing films will be screened. Last yearโ€™s inaugural event sold out quickly and generated enthusiastic reviews, and a limited number of three-day tickets is now available to the general public.
