News – HSR Ownership Changes

Officials of Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) have announced that David Hinton, president of Vintage Racing Events LLC, has acquired a controlling interest in the organization. HSR, which organizes vintage racecar events in Americaโ€™s East and Midwest, was founded in 1977 as the Walter Mitty Challenge Group, changing its name to Historic Sportscar Racing during the 1990s. Hinton and long-time HSR member Jim Pace have acquired the interest of the organizationโ€™s longtime supporter Pater McLaughlin. Pace will join the HSR management team and assist with HSRโ€™s driver improvement efforts.

โ€œPeter McLaughlin has been a part of historic racing in the United States for many years,โ€ commented Hinton. โ€œWe all owe him a great deal of thanks for helping to shape the sport into what we enjoy today. Jim’s extensive experience in many aspects of motorsports as a longtime Skip Barber instructor, professional race driver and historic competitor will only add to the quality, sportsmanship and safety of our events.โ€
