The inaugural Spring Classic vintage racecar weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca enjoyed flawless Monterey Peninsula weather as fields of well-turned-out historic racing cars populated eight race groups.

Six drivers posted dual victories in their group races while the big winner was Connecticut’s Travis Engen, who swept the three Group F races for World Sports Cars, Le Mans Prototypes and Can-Am cars, as well as Saturday’s one-hour Enduro, with his ex-works Audi R8 Le Mans

The double winners included: John Delane with his Formula B Brabham BT18 in Group A (above); Martin Lauber, driving his ex-Keke Rosberg Formula Atlantic Chevron BT39 in Group D; and Dan Marvin, who won both Masters USA F1 races (Group H) with Kathy Reilly’s Brabham BT44-Ford. The other two dual victors were Patrick Byrne (Alfa Romeo GTA Corso) and Troy Ermish (Datsun 510), who split the four Group E races for 2.5-liter Trans-Am cars.
