The new G-Wagon by Urban Automotive

Urban Automotive, specialists in premium luxury vehicle enhancements, has redefined the latest Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon W465 with two distinct styling packages – the Widetrack and Aero Kit. This marks Urban’s 30th bespoke customisation programme since the company was founded in 2013.

The G-Wagon is a style icon and one of Urban’s most successful models, attracting celebrity customers, such as Marcus Rashford. The evolution of the new Urban G-Wagon Widetrack builds on that success.

As one of the most exclusive and iconic models in Urban’s line-up, the G-Wagon’s next generation Widetrack styling package adds a bold wide-body design with over 40 bespoke carbon fibre components, all designed and manufactured exclusively in-house.

Developed to deliver a more aggressive and powerful stance to the G-Wagon, the Widetrack reflects Urban’s ‘OEM Plus’ philosophy to elevate the vehicle’s visual impact while staying true to its original design.

“The G-Wagon Widetrack retains the core design language that defines Urban’s identity, while signalling a bold and deliberate evolution. Its silhouette pays homage to the original, yet the refined proportions and newly introduced design cues clearly distinguish it as a next-generation interpretation” comments Simon Dearn, Founder of Urban Automotive.

Key upgrades include flared carbon fibre front and rear arches, a restyled carbon fibre front bumper with honeycomb mesh inserts and carbon fibre front splitter to add robustness and a striking presence to the vehicle’s front end. The ultra-light, vented bullnose bonnet overlay with the official UA badge and carbon fibre light bar completes the front-end redesign.

At the rear, the Honeycomb Mesh inserts are mirrored in the restyled bumper with additional carbon fibre diffuser and tow cover. A special feature is the flat-faced, premium Urban-Vossen UV-7 23-inch alloy wheels, which are made by hand in Miami exclusively for the Widetrack.

The redefined Aero Kit, a dynamic revision of Urban’s outgoing ‘Soft Kit’ offers a more subtle styling option. Designed for owners seeking a sharper and more elegant appearance without increasing the vehicle’s width, the Aero Kit provides a clean, lightweight design that fits seamlessly with the vehicle’s original lines.

It features the same vented bullnose bonnet overlay, carbon fibre roof light cluster, rear spoiler, and Urban-branded wheel carrier as the Widetrack, offering clients extensive personalisation while maintaining a slimmer profile. Optional upgrades include carbon fibre bumper overriders, wing mirrors, and bumper intake trims.

All components are designed and manufactured in-house at Urban Automotive’s Milton Keynes facility using premium-grade carbon fibre to deliver lightweight durability, better fuel efficiency, and precision fitment. This hands-on approach ensures consistent quality and exceptional craftsmanship throughout every build.

“Advancements in design methodology have enabled significant improvements in both fit and finish, aligning the Widetrack with a premium OEM-standard aesthetic. This evolution is reflected in the use of elevated materials—including extended carbon fibre detailing, billet aluminium exhaust finishers, and finely engineered mesh elements across the front, rear, and signature bullnose hood attachment” adds Simon.

In addition to enhancing visual appeal, these parts also support long-term value retention, with Urban-equipped G-Wagons achieving, on average, up to 14% higher resale values.

The Aero Kit and Widetrack kit are now available to order via Urban Automotive and its international distributor network. Customers can choose between a stock of existing vehicles available from Urban or supply their own car for transformation.

Both styling programmes for the W465 G-Wagon are available across three ICE variants, G63 (4 Litre V8 Turbo), G500 (3 Litre 6 Cylinder Turbo), and G450d (3 Litre 6 Cylinder Turbodiesel), all featuring a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, Urban offers retrofitting options for earlier G-Wagon models.
