The Apollo Evo represents one of the most uncompromising expressions of modern hypercar engineering, pushing design and performance far beyond conventional automotive boundaries. In its latest feature, Top Gear examines the limited-production machine that succeeds the radical Apollo Intensa Emozione, revealing how every aspect of its construction prioritizes aerodynamic efficiency, lightweight engineering, and track performance over everyday usability.
Built around a full carbon-fiber structure, the Evo’s body consists of an astonishing 75 individual carbon-fiber panels, each meticulously finished by hand. Apollo claims the aggressive aerodynamic package produces an extraordinary 1,350 kilograms of downforce at just 133 mph—surpassing even the figures associated with the Aston Martin Valkyrie—while maintaining a dry weight of only 1,300 kilograms. The dramatic exterior also incorporates one of the automotive industry’s largest 3D-printed titanium exhaust systems, requiring more than 120 hours to manufacture and serving as both an engineering showcase and a visual centerpiece.
Inside, the Apollo Evo embraces a pure motorsport philosophy. The cockpit eliminates virtually every luxury feature in favor of lightweight construction and driver focus, replacing infotainment with configurable performance controls, adjustable ABS, traction control, engine mapping, and a quick-release steering wheel. Even routine tasks reflect the car’s uncompromising design, with an elaborate fuel-filling mechanism that requires opening large body panels to access the filler neck.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 producing 800 metric horsepower and 564 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed sequential gearbox. Although Apollo remains discreet about the engine’s origins, Top Gear notes that the powerplant is derived from Ferrari’s F140 V12 architecture before undergoing an extensive rebuild by HWA. The result is a hypercar capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 2.7 seconds and reaching a claimed top speed of 208 mph.
With production limited to just 10 examples, the Apollo Evo is less a conventional hypercar than an engineering statement, combining extreme aerodynamics, exotic manufacturing techniques, and race-inspired technology into one of the most audacious road-capable machines ever conceived.
