Aston Martin is heading into the world of blockbuster gaming with the reveal of Dreadnought, a digital-only military-specification SUV created exclusively for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.

Developed in collaboration with Infinity Ward and Activision, Dreadnought is unlike anything the British marque has produced before. Free from the constraints of real-world engineering, Aston Martin’s design team was able to imagine an uncompromising tactical vehicle that blends the company’s unmistakable luxury and performance DNA with the high-intensity combat environments of the latest Call of Duty title.

Although it exists solely in the virtual world, Aston Martin says Dreadnought was designed as if it could operate in reality. Built around the physics of the Modern Warfare universe, the all-wheel-drive SUV combines supercar-inspired performance with military-grade armour, adaptive combat intelligence systems and a thunderous Aston Martin V12 soundtrack.

The exterior retains several signature Aston Martin design cues despite its aggressive mission-focused appearance. Carbon fibre construction features a distinctive herringbone weave, while the cabin incorporates Oxford Tan leather trim, metallic gold switchgear and a host of premium finishes rarely associated with military vehicles. These luxury touches sit alongside tactical additions including armour plating, reserve fuel tanks and bespoke weapons storage.

The name “Dreadnought” also carries historical significance. While it literally translates as “fear nothing”, it also references the revolutionary HMS Dreadnought, the British battleship that redefined naval warfare in the early 20th century and inspired an entirely new class of warship.

Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman said the project gave the design team a rare opportunity to explore what the brand could become without the limitations of the physical world. “The team have hugely enjoyed the not inconsiderable challenge of redefining what an Aston Martin can be when the only limit is imagination.”

Reichman explained that the vehicle was conceived as though it could exist beyond the game itself, imagining it navigating cities including New York and Mumbai with complete authenticity. “To me, Dreadnought is unmistakably an Aston Martin, amplified without restraint. The quality of the details we have been able to include, right down to the iconic Chiltern Green paint colour, underscores our dedication to delivering a truly authentic Aston Martin experience.”

Players will be able to discover Dreadnought at key points of interest in both DMZ and Call of Duty: Warzone, placing Aston Martin’s latest creation in some of the franchise’s most intense combat zones.
Jack O’Hara, Co-Studio Head at Infinity Ward, said the collaboration focused on ensuring the vehicle felt authentic both visually and mechanically. “Every element, from early concepting through to animation, geometry, in-game physics and propulsion, was carefully engineered to deliver a high-performance armoured vehicle that stays true to Aston Martin’s distinctive design philosophy.”

The project also forms part of Aston Martin’s wider strategy to engage with younger audiences through digital experiences. Director of Brand Diversification Stefano Saporetti described Dreadnought as more than simply a vehicle for a video game. “The Dreadnought isn’t just a digital vehicle; it’s a strategic gateway for a younger, global audience to experience our ultra-luxury DNA.”

To mark its debut, Aston Martin is displaying a full-size model of the virtual SUV at Fanatics Fest in New York on the Call of Duty stand, giving fans their first opportunity to see the striking concept outside the game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches globally on 23 October 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC via Battle.net, Xbox on PC and Steam, as well as Nintendo Switch 2.
