Barrett-Jackson Inaugural Northeast Auction Preview

Barrett-Jackson Auctions is hosting its inaugural Northeast Auction at the Mohegan Sun Casino Resort in Uncasville, Connecticut, on the weekend of June 23-25. This inaugural event will feature a broad range of vintage, custom and late-model vehicles, and among the highlighted cars are a one-of-one custom 1967 Ford Mustang known as โ€œObsidianโ€ (above), a rare, matching-numbers 1970 Plymouth HEMI Superbird, an original, matching-numbers 1968 Shelby GT500 KR Convertible and a concours-ready 1966 Porsche 911.

โ€œWeโ€™re set to make our debut Northeast Auction at Mohegan Sun one of the most exciting automotive experiences on the East Coast this year,โ€ said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. โ€œClientele and enthusiasts from the Northeast and Canada have asked us to host an event in this region, and we found Mohegan Sun to be the perfect venue.โ€

The unique custom 1967 Ford Mustang known as โ€œObsidianโ€ features a fuel-injected 392cid V8 with twin Rotex superchargers that provides 847 horsepower and 750 lbs-ft of torque, as well as twin air-to-air intercoolers integrated into the hood and a Tremec TKO 600 5-speed transmission.

Among the European marques on the Mohegan Sun docket is a concours-ready 1966 Porsche 911 finished in Irish Green and upholstered in tan leather with plaid seat inserts. Powered by a 2.0-liter flat 6, this is among the earliest examples of the iconic model and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity is included.

The inaugural Northeast Auction at Mohegan Sun will be broadcast live on Velocity and Discovery Channel. For more information please visit www.Barrett-Jackson.com
