Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2015 – Auction Results

The Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction 2015 was held January 10-18 at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Arizona, resulting in more than $130 million in gross sales. The total from the 44th annual event was the highest in company history, with 1,611 vehicles sold during this year’s Arizona Auction Week sale.

โ€œThis yearโ€™s Scottsdale auction was on a scale unlike anything in our 44-year history,โ€ said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson.โ€œFrom sales and consignments to our ratings on Discovery and Velocity, we smashed records at every level. Our week kicked off with a gala and continued to build excitement with our largest vehicle consignment in history, including the sale of the Ron Pratte Collection on Tuesday. Everyone who attended this yearโ€™s Scottsdale auction was a part of automotive history.โ€

The Ron Pratte Collection offerings dominated Barrett-Jackson’s 2015 Arizona sale, as the Pratte offerings brought in over $40.44 million in vehicle and automobilia sales. The top result was the 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake that sold post-block for $5,100,000. The Super Snake stalled at $4,700,000 during the Saturday sale, but Barrett-Jackson put a deal together afterwards that got it done.

Other notable Ron Pratte Collection results included the 1950 GM Futurliner Parade of Progress Tour Bus at $4,000,000, the 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special Motorama Concept Car that made $3,300,000 and the 1936 Delahaye โ€œWhatthehayeโ€ Street-Rod that sold for $671,000. The 1949 MG TC Roadster, the first car Carroll Shelby drove in a road race, brought a strong $539,000.

The 2015 Scottsdale sale also featured Barrett-Jacksonโ€™s Salon offerings, headlined by the 1949 Talbot-Lago T-26 Grand Sport Franay that brought $1,650,000, the 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 Roadster at $1,595,000, the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing that seemed like a steal at $1,100,000 and the stunning 1952 Alfa Romeo 1900C Sprint Pinin Farina Coupe sold for a world-record $550,000.
