The Bonhams Greenwich 2016 auction was held Sunday, June 5th at the Greenwich Concours dโ€™Elegance in Connecticut, resulting in $5,390,275 in total sales and an 80 percent sell-through rate. Held at the waterfront Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich, Bonhams’ 9th annual sale featured more than 100 automobiles and a wide-ranging selection of automobilia.

โ€œOur sale was strong and consistent this year,โ€ said Eric Minoff, Bonhams Motoring Dept. Specialist. โ€œGood, desirable classics fresh to market sold really well and interest from international bidders continues to grow. It was a pleasure to support the Greenwich Concours dโ€™Elegance and the Wennerstrom family, who continue this popular event founded by Bruce and Genia Wennerstrom.โ€

The top result at the 2016 Bonhams Greenwich Concours auction went to the 113-mile 2005 Ford GT that sold for $291,500. The time-warp 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350 was a highlight when it exceeded its estimate and sold to an American collector for $159,500, while a quirky 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL with matching Mini Tears Teardrop Trailer made $192,500. Other notable results included the 1950 Tatra T87 that achieved $137,500 a 1986 Ferrari Testarossa that was bought for $173,800.
