The Cox familyโs Candlestick restaurant โ the place to go in Branson for great food and wine โ was de-roofed. In the process its โCAND E STI Kโ sign (weโve never seen it with every 60โs neon letter working) was distributed over a two block area. Remarkably, the restaurant itself, built on tall pilings on the edge of Mt. Branson overlooking Lake Taneycomo, survived.
The sinuously-shaped Branson Landing Hilton, site of the auction since fall of 2007, was devastated. Draperies waved like flags from its myriad broken windows.
But the Convention Center survived, and the Spring Branson Auction, April 20-21, 2012 is on. Determination, resiliency and commitment in the face of adversity can overcome most things.
There are few organizations better equipped with those attributes than the Cox familyโs Branson Auction and weโll be there to help them, and Branson, recover.
