Harris-Costin

Harris-Costin cars, a collaboration between automotive engineer Frank Costin and racer Ian Harris in the late 1950s and early 1960s, epitomize innovative design and engineering excellence in British sports cars. Frank Costin, renowned for his expertise in aerodynamics and lightweight construction, brought his pioneering approach to the partnership, while Ian Harris provided the racing acumen and practical insights. Together, they created vehicles that were not only competitive on the track but also showcased advanced engineering concepts. The most notable model from their collaboration was the Costin-Nathan GT, a lightweight, aerodynamic sports car built with a tubular steel chassis and a sleek, fiberglass body. This car’s exceptional handling and performance, attributed to Costin’s meticulous attention to aerodynamics and weight distribution, made it a standout in its class. Although the Harris-Costin collaboration was short-lived, their cars left a lasting impression on the motorsport world, blending innovative design with practical racing performance.
