Mirage

Mirage Racing Team, founded in the mid-1960s by John Wyer and John Willment, is a celebrated name in the world of motorsport, particularly renowned for its successes in endurance racing. The team quickly gained prominence with its sleek and competitive prototypes, designed to conquer the grueling challenges of events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Mirage cars, often powered by Ford and later by Gulf Research Racing, were distinguished by their innovative engineering and striking liveries. In 1975, Mirage achieved a historic victory at Le Mans with the GR8, driven by Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell, marking a pinnacle in the team’s storied history. The Mirage Racing Team’s dedication to performance and their strategic partnerships contributed significantly to their legacy, making them an enduring symbol of excellence and innovation in endurance racing.
