Want to own a car that made its debut at Silverstone on the 22nd of January 2002? This is the car for you then. The 2002 Jordan EJ12 Chassis No.1 is currently for sale at The Market.
The car was designed to last three seasons and the DHL deal went south when the car didn’t perform as expected. It only managed to collect nine points at the end of the season. The car was designed by Eghbal Hamidy. It was a new design and one based on the EJ11.
It features a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and a robust aerodynamics package. The original engine was replaced by a Judd KV8 Zytec S3000 Formula 30000 engine that can be started by one person at the push of a button. While not original, it’s definitely a much easier engine to have in the car. The transmission is a five-speed pneumatic paddle-shift Lola/Hewland gearbox.
The car has been in the hands of a passionate collector and is well cared for. Only five EJ12s were ever built and two were written off while another disappeared and was suspected stolen. This is one of the two left and the other is in the Honda museum.
The car comes with a complete set of spares and a garage package that includes two sets of wheels and two unused sets of wet and dry Michelin tires, two spare rear rims and two used front rims, set of four tire warmers, high-lift jacks and low-rise floor stands, a set of spares including wishbones, a selection of tools, fueling tanks, charge packs for the workshop and trackside, and an engine preheater. This car is really sold ready to run.
At the time of this writing, the bidding is up to £110,505 (about $140,600 USD). There are over five days left on the auction, so there is time for you to think about this one before you choose.
