The Ferrari 458 Speciale, unveiled in 2013, was the most advanced mid-engined V8 Ferrari built at the time and the special-series version of the 458 Italia. It also marked the last naturally aspirated mid-engined V8 Ferrari designed by Pininfarina.
Compared to the Italia, the Speciale shed 90 kg through carbon fiber use and gained a more powerful 4.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 producing 605 hp at 9,000 rpmโthe most powerful non-turbo V8 ever built in Maranello. Performance upgrades included LaFerrari-derived carbon-ceramic brakes, a faster-shifting gearbox, increased aerodynamic downforce, larger 20-inch wheels, and a revised suspension.
One of just 1,309 examples produced, this Speciale was delivered new in Bianco Avus over a Nero Alcantara interior with grey racing stripes. It has remained with its original owner from new and shows fewer than 2,000 miles on the odometer.
The car comes with several sought-after options, including Rosso brake calipers, the AFS lighting system, a front suspension lifter, titanium exhaust pipes, parking sensors for both front and rear, and Rosso interior stitching. It also retains its factory PPF on all forward surfaces and Clearplex film on the windshield, with the owner confirming it has always been kept indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
A rare chance to acquire a modern Ferrari icon, this 458 Speciale, now available on RM Sothebyโs, represents the closing chapter of naturally aspirated mid-engined V8 Ferrarisโmaking it especially desirable among collectors.
