FOR SALE: 2020 McLaren Senna GTR

Number 21 of only 75 examples built

When McLaren applies the GTR designation, it does so sparingly and with intent. In three decades, only three models have earned the title, beginning with the 1995 F1 GTR—still celebrated for its outright victory at Le Mans. In an era crowded with headline-grabbing hypercars, true credibility belongs to those grounded in racing success. Few badges carry greater weight than a GTR linked to Ayrton Senna, McLaren’s most accomplished driver.

While the road-going Senna was engineered as McLaren’s most focused street car, the Senna GTR was designed to be the fastest circuit machine the company has ever produced outside Formula One. Power comes from the familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8, largely unchanged in architecture but liberated from road constraints. The removal of secondary catalysts unlocks 814 bhp and 590 lb-ft of torque, delivering even quicker acceleration than the standard Senna.

The most dramatic gains come from aerodynamics. It features a 3″ wider front track and 2.7″ wider rear track than the road car along with active aerodynamics, a rear spoiler with a drag reduction system, and a revised front splitter and rear diffuser. The coupe is capable of generating 2,205 pounds of downforce at 155 mph, 442 pounds more than the contemporary road car.

This example currently offered for sale on Bring a Trailer with 525 miles is number 21 of 75 built. Finished in white, it includes an anti-collision system with cameras and radar, a roof scoop, enlarged air intakes, polycarbonate glazing, pneumatic air jacks, and 19″ staggered-width center-lock wheels.

The suspension is shared with the 720S GT3 race car and includes double wishbones, four-way adjustable Öhlins dampers, and adjustable anti-roll bars. Driver aids mirror those of the road-going Senna, while braking is handled by carbon-ceramic rotors with revised boost and six- and four-piston monobloc calipers.

Inside, GTR-branded Sabelt carbon-fiber fixed-back seats are trimmed in black Alcantara and fitted with six-point harnesses. Additional equipment includes titanium-nitride pedals with LM logos, leather door pulls, an integrated roll cage, fire suppression, data logging, pit-to-car radio, and air conditioning.
