Henry Catchpole Examines What Could Be The Fastest Porsche 959 Ever

Hagerty’s YouTube channel and presenter Henry Catchpole explore a 1985 Porsche 959 prototype that laid the foundation for the iconic model built from 1986 to 1993.

The Porsche 959 is often overshadowed by the Ferrari F40, but its advanced technology and development led to the production of the rare and highly sought-after Sport variant, which held the title of the fastest production car during its cycle.

The F9 prototype used in the video is the analog version of the 959 and lacks power steering, air conditioning, electronically-controlled suspension, and anti-lock brakes, making it even lighter than the production car.

The F9 is one of 12 “F” series 959 prototypes, with another 17 “N” and “V” series prototypes produced at the start of the 959 production.
