McLaren Automotive and McLaren Racing have joined forces to unveil Project: Endurance – an extraordinary customer partnership programme offering a rare opportunity to experience the thrill of piloting a true Le Mans Hypercar. Reserved for a select few, this initiative brings the intensity and authenticity of elite motorsport directly to McLaren’s most passionate enthusiasts.
Participants in Project: Endurance will become part of McLaren’s legendary motorsport legacy – a heritage that includes victory at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, two Indy 500 wins, over 190 Grand Prix triumphs, including Monaco, and nine Formula 1 Constructors’ Championships. McLaren remains the only manufacturer to have claimed motorsport’s prestigious Triple Crown.
“I’m delighted to announce that McLaren Automotive is collaborating with our colleagues in McLaren Racing to introduce a bold, authentic Le Mans Hypercar customer ownership experience. In addition to owning the very latest LMDh race car – a driving sensation alone few will ever experience – customers will enjoy unique, wholly immersive access to the development and racing programme that will underpin our 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship contender. Together with the associated track driving programme curated for Project: Endurance, this incredible opportunity delivers a new dimension in McLaren customer partnership.” Nick Collins, CEO, McLaren Group Holdings
At the heart of Project: Endurance is a purpose-built LMDh Hypercar, featuring a race-derived V6 twin-turbo hybrid powertrain delivering power to the rear wheels. Developed in collaboration with the renowned Dallara – McLaren’s technical partner and exclusive chassis supplier to the NTT INDYCAR Series, this car mirrors the technology and performance of McLaren’s upcoming WEC race entry.
“McLaren Racing’s return to the FIA World Endurance Championship marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for us. We have a rich history in the sport together with McLaren Automotive, having raced and won on our first attempt at Le Mans in 1995. This customer programme will offer buyers an incredible chance to own an authentic race car and get closer to the action on track.” Zak Brown, CEO, McLaren Racing
Project: Endurance redefines customer involvement. Owners won’t just drive a Hypercar – they’ll become embedded in the McLaren Racing development journey. From insider access to team engineers and drivers to exclusive insights into McLaren’s WEC campaign, customers will be immersed in the build-up to Le Mans 2027. In addition to owning the Hypercar, customers will be central to the testing and refinement process of McLaren’s 2027 WEC contender. They’ll also be guests at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, experiencing the race as part of McLaren’s pursuit of another Triple Crown – this time within a single season.
The ownership experience includes a two-year McLaren customer track programme, featuring world-renowned circuits, arrive-and-drive convenience, personalized driver coaching, dedicated pit crew, and full technical support from race engineers. Further details about this unparalleled collaboration between McLaren Automotive and McLaren Racing will be revealed as the programme evolves.
