Porsche expands 911 lineup with trio of All-Wheel Drive 2026 models

Porsche continues to evolve its iconic 911 lineup with the introduction of three new all-wheel drive models for the 2026 model year: the 911 Carrera 4S Coupe, 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, and the 911 Targa 4S. These new variants not only bring enhanced performance and expanded standard equipment but also offer greater flexibility and choice for enthusiasts seeking year-round usability without compromising on driving thrills.

Performance and Handling Upgrades

At the heart of each model is the updated 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 473 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque—an increase of 30 hp over its predecessor. This engine, borrowed from the rear-wheel drive Carrera S, is paired with Porsche’s quick-shifting 8-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission and the rear-biased all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management system. Acceleration is brisk: the 911 Carrera 4S Coupe hits 0–60 mph in just 3.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package.

Handling receives a serious boost with uprated brakes borrowed from the previous GTS models and improved dampers for better ride quality. Options like PASM Sport Suspension, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), and rear axle steering (standard on the Targa 4S) give these models a wide performance envelope that can be tailored to individual driving styles.

Enhanced Comfort and Standard Features

Inside, Porsche has increased luxury content, making extended leather upholstery standard along with wireless smartphone charging and Matrix Design LED headlights. For added practicality, the Coupe remains a two-seater with optional rear seats at no extra cost, while the Cabriolet and Targa include them as standard.

The new standard Sport Exhaust system with silver tailpipes adds a richer auditory experience, while staggered 20/21-inch wheels and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+) carry over as performance mainstays.

The Targa Legacy: 60 Years of Open-Air Innovation

The 911 Targa 4S arrives with more than just performance—it’s a celebration of heritage. Marking 60 years since the first Targa debuted, the 2026 model stays true to its roots with its iconic wide roll bar and fully automated roof mechanism that opens in just 19 seconds. As always, it provides the airy freedom of a convertible with the comfort and security of a coupe, now further enhanced by standard all-wheel drive and a selection of four roof colors.

Availability

All three models—the 911 Carrera 4S Coupe, Cabriolet, and Targa 4S—will arrive in U.S. showrooms in Q4 of 2025, with pricing to be announced closer to launch.
