Road America Lands F1 Race

Road America and the Historic Grand Prix racing group have announced that a grid of 30 3-liter Formula One cars will be the feature race for the 2002 Merrill Lynch/Brian Redman International Challenge to be held July 18-21. According to James King of the HGP, โ€œWhen the U.S. Grand Prix departed Watkins Glen in 1980, it should have been relocated to Road America. We are pleased that we can now share the heritage of the glory days of F1 with our fans at Road America.โ€ At four miles in length with 14 turns, Road Americaโ€™s high-speed circuit should prove to be a significant challenge for HGPโ€™s grid of period-correct Formula One machines.
