The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational was held June 16-19, 2016 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana. SVRA served as the sanctioning body of the Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational where more than 350 race cars competed in 11 different race groups on the 13-turn, 2.439-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) road course. The event, which also featured exhibition runs on the famed 2.5-mile IMS oval, gave race fans the opportunity to meet drivers, get close to historic race cars and speak with car owners.

The “Indy Legends” Charity Pro-Am was the feature event, with a full field of 33 Indianapolis 500 veterans and NASCAR stars Bill Elliott and Ray Evernham paired up with the driver owners. The teams competed in a 40-minute competition in 1963 to 1972 vintage American muscle cars of the “Group 6” SVRA class. The duo of Robby Unser and Andre Ahrle took the overall victory in their 1965 Cobra CompR, followed by the 1965 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 of Paul Tracey and Gary Moore and the 1968 Chevrolet Corvette of Richie Hearn and Clair Schwendeman.
