Tom Wheatcroft is a man with a lot of energy and drive. Though in his seventies, he still goes to work each and every day and has seen a boyhood dream become a world renowned achievement. Not only did the boy who first saw cars race at Donington in 1935 become the owner of the world’s largest collection of Grand Prix cars, but he also bought and developed the run-down Derbyshire circuit and revitalized it to the point that the European Grand Prix was held there in 1993.
Wheatcroft has been in motorsports as an entrant, a manufacturer, a spectator, an organizer, well….in just about every role you can think of! He is on close terms with prewar drivers and modern Formula One stars, alike. He has more “insider” stories of the racing world than a lot of people are comfortable with!
