News – VSCCA expanded list of vehicles

The Vintage Sportscar Club of America, (VSCCA) has announced that it has expanded its list of eligible vehicles to include five additional vintage models. These include the Austin Healey 100-6, Triumph TR-3, โ€œBugeyeโ€ Sprite, Sunbeam Alpine, and all 356 Porsches equipped with drum brakes.

The VSCCA is one of the oldest vintage car clubs in the United States. While the membership of the club spans several continents, its activities, which include events at racetracks, hill climbs, rallies, concours, and street races such as the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, are primarily concentrated on the East Coast from Virginia through New England.

The VSCCAโ€™s purpose is to encourage the preservation and use of vintage sports cars in as close to their original state as possible. As opposed to the philosophy of some vintage groups, the VSCCA has resisted change, and been fairly consistent in maintaining a policy of somewhat strict limits on car modifications. The club has also maintained a constant list of eligible vehicles, without any significant addition to that list for many years now. Therefore, the addition of five new models is a rather significant event in the context of the clubโ€™s history.
