The 1932 Alfa Romeo P3ย (or Tipo B as it was widely known) was a classic Grand Prix car. Designed by the famous Vittorio Jano it wasย one of the firstย single-seat racing car. The biggest difference between it and it’s predecessor (theย P2) was it was designed toย last much longer race distances. It had a light-weight chassis and was powered by an eight-cylinder engine that was also supercharged.
The P3 was introduced in June, halfway through the 1932 Grand Prix season in Europe, winning its first race at the hands of Tazio Nuvolari, and going on to win 6 races that year driven by both Nuvolari and Rudolf Caracciola, including all 3 major Grands Prix in Italy, France and Germany.
