Southern California is home to a seemingly endless supply of astounding cars hiding in garages, warehouses and barns. For those of us residing in the other 49 States, I suppose itโs too bad for us.
For the past 27 years, an early-postwar Italian-blooded racing machine has been resting quietly in the Southern California garage of Richard Wolff. Wolff is no ordinary caretaker. Originally from Aachen, Germany, Wolff is a man with more than one passion. As a professional Chef (now semi-retired), heโs travelled the world tasting and creating culinary delights. By his account, heโs also fanatical about the automobile. Wolff said, โWhen I own a car I have a hard time even thinking about letting it go. I bought a Triumph TR4A in 1974 when I was 20. Iโve driven that one all over Europe and the United States. Iโve also slept in the car on many occasions. You might say weโve been through a lot together. I could never even think about selling the car. Thatโs the madness.โ
