Iโve always liked Blackhawk Farms Raceway, a track not everybody knows about. Itโs in Illinois, right on the border with Wisconsin, just outside a town called South Beloit. Blackhawk is not a high-speed track in the manner of Road America, but itโs very technical, with complex corners that really make you think. Blackhawk is a track where a nimble, small, lower-hp car can take a big-bore machine to task.
Tito and Marcia Nappi built the track in 1967, running it until 1986, when they sold the facility to the Irwin family (who eventually went on to own Heartland Park Topeka). In August of 2007, Paul Musschoot, a successful local business ownerโand SCCA racerโbought the track.
