Andrew Adams portrays Triumph’s first factory entry in the 1963 12 Hours of Sebring with a freshly built TR4.
The 1963 12 Hour Grand Prix of Endurance at Sebring marked Triumph’s first factory entry into North American competition. Competition Director R.W. (Kas) Kastner selected three TR4s from the company’s regular inventory and began the arduous task of preparing the cars to survive the 12-hour race. Flown to Miami, Florida, the factory entries were driven on the street from the airport to the track where a hangar was rented and work continued in the days leading up to the race.
