Formula 5000 Revival (2016) – F5000 Crowns Champs

The Formula 5000 Drivers Association crowned its 2015 champions at its season finale, part of SVRAโ€™s U.S. Vintage Racing National Championships at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Clinching their respective Class A (Pre-1972) and Class B (1972-1976) championships with race victories were Bruce Leeson (McLaren M10B-Chevrolet), who went to Austin leading Class A and by winning simply solidified his standing, while Rick Parsons (Lola T332C-Chevrolet) (shown) sat 2nd in the Class B points, so his win enabled him to climb atop the final standings.

Chasing Leeson home at COTA were Mark Harmer (1969 Surtees TS5-Chevrolet) in 2nd and Seb Coppola (1970 Lola T192-Chevrolet) in 3rd, while in Parsonsโ€™ wake were Jim Stengel (1973 McRae GM1-Chevrolet) in 2nd and 3rdโ€“placed Eric Haga (1972 Lola T300-Chevrolet).

Our congratulations go out to both champions. For further information, please visit www.F5000Registry.com
