McLaren unveils ultra-rare Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition to celebrate historic F1 double

McLaren Automotive has marked one of the most significant milestones in its Formula 1 history with the unveiling of an ultra-exclusive special edition: the Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition, limited to just 10 examples worldwide.

Created by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the model celebrates McLaren Racing’s 10th Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship and a historic back-to-back title-winning season in 2025, a year that also saw Lando Norris claim his maiden Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship at the wheel of the McLaren MCL39. The Championship Edition is conceived as a direct, tangible link between McLaren’s road cars and its latest championship-winning Formula 1 machine, offering a select group of clients a literal piece of modern McLaren racing history.

Visually, the Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition is defined by a bespoke, hand-painted MSO livery that blends Myan Orange with Onyx Black, echoing the colours and character of the 2025 title-winning F1 car. Subtle yet intricate commemorative details elevate the design further. Each painted ‘10’ motif incorporates ten stars and the finely rendered silhouettes of every McLaren Formula 1 car to have won a Constructors’ Championship, paying tribute to the brand’s complete championship lineage.

The exterior specification is enhanced with the Black Pack, 10-spoke Super-Lightweight Dynamo forged alloy wheels finished in Gloss Black, Myan Orange brake calipers, Stealth Badge Pack, and a Sports Exhaust with Stealth finisher.

Inside, MSO has curated a specification that balances motorsport drama with luxury craftsmanship. Highlights include: ‘10’ embroidered headrests in McLaren Orange, a Myan Orange painted 12 o’clock steering wheel marker with bespoke detailing, and performance Carbon Black Alcantara and Jet Black Nappa Leather with Vision Orange piping.

Each car also features a Custom Casement Plaque on the centre console, reinforcing its rarity. Perhaps the most personal touch comes in the form of Extended Satin Carbon Fibre sill finishers, hand-signed by McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

In the luggage compartment, a Custom Track Record Plaque documents McLaren’s 2025 Formula 1 achievements, listing wins, pole positions and fastest laps from the championship-winning season. Owners will also receive a hyper-exclusive 2025 Constructors’ Championship collectors’ keepsake alongside their car.

The Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition arrives in the same year the Artura platform itself enjoyed major recognition, collecting accolades such as Britain’s Best Driver’s Car at the 2025 Autocar Awards and Performance Car of the Year at the 2025 Auto Express New Car Awards.

With just ten cars produced, each dripping in Formula 1 heritage and MSO craftsmanship, the Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition stands as one of McLaren’s most meaningful modern specials, a rolling celebration of championship success, past and present.
