Geneva Show-Car 2012 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Offered at Auction

One of just 92 examples produced worldwide

This 2012 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, one of just 92 examples produced worldwide, is set to cross the block at Broad Arrow Auctions’ upcoming Zurich sale on November 7, carrying an estimate of up to $4,024,000. Beyond its rarity and formidable performance credentials, this particular example holds an important place in Bugatti history as one of the cars displayed during the Vitesse’s official unveiling at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

Chassis number 015 was among two Grand Sport Vitesse examples presented at Geneva in 2012, introducing Bugatti’s ultimate open-top Veyron to the international automotive audience. Its exterior is finished in understated Jet Grey, complemented by black and carbon fiber detailing across the wheels, badges, and aerodynamic components.

The cabin provides a more dramatic contrast, featuring two-tone Tangerine and black leather upholstery, complemented by carbon fiber and silver trim. Tangerine accents extend to the contrast stitching and Vitesse branding on the headrests and center console. Additional provenance details include “Geneva Motorshow 2012” inscriptions on the door sills and a commemorative plaque in the luggage compartment.

Following its public debut, the car entered private European collector ownership. It is offered with 16,802 kilometers recorded at cataloging, accompanied by its Speed Key, owner’s manuals in their original pouch, and presentation box.

The Grand Sport Vitesse represents the ultimate evolution of the Veyron Grand Sport, combining the open-air configuration of the original roadster with the mechanical specification of the record-setting Veyron Super Sport. Its quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 produces 1,183 hp and 1,106 lb-ft of torque, delivered through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and an advanced all-wheel-drive system. The result is a claimed 0-60 mph acceleration time of just 2.6 seconds and a limited top speed of 233 mph with the roof installed.

With its removable targa top, the Vitesse also established new performance benchmarks for open-top production cars. In April 2013, an unrestricted example reached 254.04 mph at Ehra-Lessien, securing the production roadster speed record at the time.

Produced between 2012 and 2015, the Grand Sport Vitesse marked the culmination of the Veyron era, combining extraordinary engineering with the exclusivity expected of a flagship Bugatti. Chassis 015 adds another layer of historical significance through its role in the model’s Geneva unveiling.
