A closer look at the Koenigsegg CC850

How does 1,385 hp on E85 for an overall weight of 1,385 sound to you? Yes, that is a perfect 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, it usually doesn’t get any better than that, but the Koenigsegg CC850 has another important figure for you … 1,385 Nm @ 4,800 rpm, and it gets even better, not only is this car a limited production model, but it also comes with a very complicated manual/automatic gearbox, and yes, it does come with an MSRP of $3,600,000, but that didn’t keep 70 people from putting a deposit down, and if the comments from Christian von Koenigsegg are anything to go by, he could have sold even more, as initially, Koenigsegg intended to build just 50 units as an homage to the 2002 CC8S and a tribute to Christian’s 50th anniversary, but demand was so high that they decided to add 20 units more, as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the very first Koenigsegg customer car, the record-setting CC8S, which timeless design inspired this brand new CC850.

Let’s enjoy a nice, in-depth look at the new Koenigsegg CC850 by Jack Rix from Top Gear Magazine as he gets face-to-face with the #1 of 70 at the new, still under construction, factory:
