Association des Amis de Rob Roy

Robert de la Riviere (pseudonym โ€œRob Royโ€) was an accomplished automotive artist who lived from 1909โ€“1992. Born in France, he grew up before WWII, painting and sketching automobiles, and in particular racing competitions. Both before the war and after, Roy covered races for numerous important magazines and newspapers bringing the racing action to life in living color, at a time when race photography was only black and white. Even with the advent of color photography, Royโ€™s magnificent paintings were still in demand for magazines, event posters and in growing numbers, enthusiastโ€™s private collections. By the time of his death in 1992, Roy was considered one of the โ€œgreatsโ€ with his work having become extremely sought after and collectible.
