A trio of bespoke Bentleys debuts a groundbreaking gradient paint finish inspired by California’s landscapes Bentley Rancho Mirage has become the first dealership in the world to receive the new “Ombré by Mulliner” Collection, a striking trio of models showcasing Bentley’s latest paint innovation — a seamless gradient that fades elegantly from one color into another.
Following 2024’s “Expressions of Texture” series, this latest Mulliner commission marks a major first for the brand: the debut of the Ombré paint finish on the Continental GTC, and the introduction of two brand-new color combinations — Sunburst Gold to Orange Flame and Tungsten into Onyx.
Ombré, meaning “to shade,” represents a smooth transition between hues — light to dark, warm to cool — and in this case, artfully redefines Bentley’s already legendary craftsmanship. The first example, a Continental GT fading from Topaz to Windsor Blue, made its debut during Monterey Car Week at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, in mid-2025. Each model in the series has been tailored to reflect Bentley’s dual nature — equal parts performance and elegance.
“Our ambition was to pioneer this innovative paint process in collaboration with Mulliner,” said Jason Cammisa, Managing Director of Bentley Rancho Mirage. “This technique had never been attempted before at Bentley, and seeing the exceptional result has inspired our customers to explore the limitless opportunities for bespoke personalization.”
Every Ombré Collection Bentley is a study in balance. Each car rides on 22-inch ten-spoke swept wheels, painted to echo the fade effect of its exterior. Inside, the gradient theme continues — the front half of the cabin mirrors the lighter exterior hue, while the rear transitions into the darker tone. The attention to detail extends to seat piping, stitching, and leather finishes, all color-matched to perfection. Cabin surfaces feature Satin Beluga painted veneers across the center console, dashboard, and treadplates, maintaining the collection’s focus on texture and tactility.
Continental GTC Speed – Sunburst Gold → Orange Flame
Evoking the sun-soaked hues of Monument Valley and the Painted Desert, the convertible’s interior flows from golden tones up front to deep orange in the rear, accented by Tangerine pinstriping.
Continental GT Speed – Topaz → Windsor Blue
Inspired by the California coast, this gradient mirrors the Pacific’s shifting blues. The interior features a vivid Topaz leather up front, fading into Ocean Blue with Dragon Fly highlights.
Flying Spur Speed – Tungsten → Onyx
This luxury saloon channels Southern California’s night skies. A Porpoise front cabin transitions to Anthracite at the rear, with bright Stratos stitching and piping bringing definition and contrast.
The Ombré painting process takes nearly 60 hours to complete, hand-applied by two master specialists at Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe, England. Achieving perfect symmetry across the doors, roof, and sills requires both precision and intuition — as each color behaves differently when layered. The result? A finish so smooth and seamless that the fade appears natural to the eye, merging artistry with automotive engineering.
For those seeking a truly individual statement, the Ombré by Mulliner specification is now available through Bentley’s global retailer network, opening a new chapter in bespoke automotive design — one defined by craftsmanship, color, and creativity.
