With snow falling on the streets of Paris, collectors and enthusiasts arrived for the annual Retromobile Salonโs official auction, Retromobile 2018 by Artcurial Motorcars. This yearโs sale took place over two days, on Friday February 9 and Saturday February 10, before a crowd of more than 3,000 people, realizing โฌ31,815,566 / $38,814,990 in sales, with an 86 percent sell-through rate. Top seller was a 1938 Bugatti Type 57C Coupe Atalante (above, Christian Martin photo courtesy of Artcurial) that inspired a winning bid of nearly โฌ3 million.
โThe Retromobile 2018 sale, in line with previous years, has been a huge success and a great event for collectors,โ noted Matthieu Lamoure, Managing Director, Artcurial Motorcars. โWe saw some spirited bidding in a packed and dynamic saleroom, reflecting the quality of the cars offered in the sale.โ
