Could Lamborghini’s First Fully Electric Car be a Sedan?

A Four-Door Electric Raging Bull Could be Coming

When we think Lamborghini there are a couple of things that don’t come to mind. First is a sedan. Second is an electric car. Now, however, it seems that Lamborghini could be building it exactly that. According to a recent report from Autocar, Lamborghini’s first electric car could be a sedan.

It’s no surprise that Lamborghini is working on an electric car. It kind of has to. The world is quickly turning to electric cars both for renewable energy purposes and because of performance reasons. Electrification offers obvious advantages in many ways.

Autocar spoke with Lamborghini’s research and development boss Maurizio Reggiani. In that interview, he said the manufacturer could use an existing platform from the VW Group—of which Lamborghini is a part of—for its first fully-electric car. What platforms could be used? Well, there’s the one that Porsche used for the Taycan and the one Audi has for e-tron GT.

Reggiani was clear that a four-door electric car is a possibility for Lamborghini. He then said “Performance will be important [in a 2+2]. We must be fast but not quite in the same way as we need to be in our super-sports cars. A fourth model line will be something a little bit different.”

Later in the interview, he said, “There’s a minimum of four years in advance of launching a model to develop it.” With that in mind, you could expect the car to be ready in 2025. That’s not that far away. We’ll keep you updated if any more news comes out.
