Ex-Canelo Alvarez Bugatti Chiron Live on BaT

One of approximately 207 original Chirons built

Since its revival in 1991 with the EB110 during Romano Artioli’s ownership, Bugatti has consistently led the supercar world, first with the Veyron in 2005 and later with the Chiron. The Veyron, boasting over 1,000 horsepower and a top speed surpassing 250 mph, might have marked a final chapter for combustion engines. Yet, Bugatti pushed further with the Chiron—its swan song to the internal combustion era. Unveiled as the Vision Gran Turismo concept at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Chiron entered production in 2016.

Designed to surpass the Veyron in every aspect, the Chiron retained the quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine, featuring four valves per cylinder. It produced a factory-rated 1,479 horsepower, sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and a Haldex all-wheel-drive system. Though limited to 261 mph due to tire constraints, the Chiron accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 2.4 seconds. Only 500 units were made, of which only 207 were the original version.

Offered for sale on Bring a Trailer, this 2019 Bugatti Chiron has only 2,200 miles on the odometer and was previously owned by two-time undisputed super middleweight boxing champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.

This particular example is finished in Atlantic Blue with French Blue accents on the doors, body panels, and coves, paying tribute to the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo, as noted by a plaque in the front trunk. Exterior highlights include a painted horseshoe grille, front splitter, exposed carbon-fiber diffuser, and a French Blue rear wing underside.

The Chiron rides on optional 20″ front and 21″ rear Caractere wheels, finished in diamond-cut Atlantic Blue, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Braking is handled by carbon-ceramic rotors with French Blue-painted titanium calipers—eight-piston front and six-piston rear.

Inside, the car features Lake Blue and French Racing Blue leather, carbon-fiber Comfort seats, and a cockpit divider. Amenities include navigation, automatic climate control, and a seven-speaker Accuton sound system with satellite radio.
