Ferrari to Feature at Pebble Beach

The marque of the Prancing Horse will take center stage at the Pebble Beach Concours dโ€™Elegance this August 16, as the cars from Maranello will once again grace the 18th fairway en masse.

โ€œOur plans to feature Ferrari have been many years in the making,โ€ said event chair Sandra Button, โ€œbut it seems particularly appropriate to be showcasing this marque now, since a Ferrari earned our top award this past year.โ€

Best of Show at last yearโ€™s concours was awarded to Jon Shirley’s 1954 Ferrari 375 MM Scaglietti Coupe, the first Ferrari to be so honored. Several special Ferrari classes at this yearโ€™s event will focus on Preservation Ferraris and Ferraris that were raced in the Pebble Beach Road Races of the 1950s.

Other features of the 2015 Concours will be: โ€ข The duPont marque, of which only about 30 are known to exist; โ€ข Designs by the Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring; โ€ข Post-war Cunningham cars, including the Vignale-built C3 sports cars; โ€ข Historic Mercury custom cars from the late 1940s and early 1950s; โ€ข Pope automobiles from the early 20th century; โ€ข Japanese motorcycles; and โ€ข British pre-war sports cars. The event will also celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Lincoln Continental and the 50th anniversary of the Shelby Mustang GT350โ€”the latter of which is also the featured marque for this yearโ€™s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at nearby Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
