Amelia Island Concours (2006) – Ferrari Wins at Amelia Island

The 11th annual Amelia Island Concours dโ€™Elegance was held on March 10โ€“12, and again featured a wide variety of racing history including a working recreation of the Stanley Steamer that Fred Marriott drove to a Land Speed Record in 1906, an impressive collection of racing Jaguars, as well as various racecars from the storied career of the eventโ€™s honoree, Indy racing legend Johnny Rutherford.

But, of the dozens of significant racing machines taking part in this yearโ€™s event, Peter Sachsโ€™s 1961 Ferrari 250 TRI/61rose above the rest, in the judgeโ€™s eyes, and was awarded the prestigious โ€œRitz-Carlton, Best in Show, Concours de Sportโ€ prize for the best racing car.
