Although it was not a homologation special in the traditional sense, the 599 GTO was derived directly from the track-only 599XX and adapted for road use. It incorporated advanced Formula 1–inspired technology, including extensive aerodynamic and cooling revisions to increase downforce, such as reworked diffusers and a redesigned rear spoiler. Ferrari also refined the chassis with systems like F1-Trac to sharpen responses and minimize understeer.
Power came from a naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12 producing 670 horsepower at 8,250 rpm, paired with a heavily revised six-speed automated manual transaxle capable of lightning-fast 60-millisecond shifts. This combination propelled the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, making it Ferrari’s quickest road car at the time. Ferrari claimed it could lap the Fiorano test track a full second faster than the Enzo, underscoring its status as the brand’s most extreme front-engined sports car.
Now listed on Collecting Cars, this Ferrari 599 GTO represents one of the most aggressive and desirable front-engined supercars of the modern Ferrari era. Originally delivered to Switzerland and first registered in March 2011, the car is said to have had a single private owner. It remains on Swiss registration, is currently located in Belgium, and has covered 28,600 km from new. Buyers should note that it is not EU-registered and may be subject to VAT or import duties depending on location.
Finished in Grigio Silverstone over a Nero interior, it features extensive carbon fibre throughout, lightweight wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, and Ferrari’s advanced traction systems. The car comes with two keys, a Certificate of Conformity, and a full Ferrari dealer service history.
