The McLaren Elva is an extreme, open-top supercar inspired by Bruce McLaren’s original Elva, which helped launch the Can-Am racing era. The name comes from the French “elle va” (“she goes”). The Elva has no windshield or windows; instead, it uses an air vent to redirect airflow over the cabin.
This 2021 McLaren Elva, number 45 of only 149 units made, is one of the most audacious models in McLaren’s modern lineup, and this particular example, listed on Bring A Trailer with just 681 miles, lives up to that legacy. Its lightweight carbon fiber body is finished in Norello Red with Galvanic Grey accents and built around McLaren’s refined Monocell II chassis.
The interior features carbon-fiber bucket seats upholstered in black and white leather, detailed with Bordeaux Red piping, Harissa Red stitching, and Elva embroidery. Matching body-color trim extends to the dash, doors, and rear bulkhead, while the door inserts are finished in Pure White.
Notable amenities include a deployable rollover system, padded black leather armrest, shoulder belts, McLaren floor mats, polished dash mirror, air conditioning, parking sensors, a rearview camera, touchscreen infotainment, and a McLaren sound system. Exposed carbon fiber is used throughout the lower interior.
Power comes from a 4.0-liter M840TR twin-turbo V8, producing 804 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch SSG transmission. The Elva features a double-wishbone suspension with ProActive Chassis Control II, offering multiple drive modes, plus advanced systems like Brake Steer, Variable Drift Control, launch control, and variable electro-hydraulic steering.
