Some say Graham Hill was not a natural, but one who had to work hard at his motor racing. I say so what? Not many of us work so well at something that we equal Hillโs outstanding record of winning the 1962 and 1968 Formula One World Championships, 14 championship Grands Prix, the 1966 Indianapolis 500 and the 1972 24 Hours of Le Mans!
Hill was a true Brit, as English as the White Cliffs of Dover. In fact, he was so very British that, when he asked Enzo Ferrari if there would ever be a place for him at Maranello, the legendary Italian said, โNo, you are too English.โ
