Two off-road supercars face each other on unfamiliar ground โ the tarmac. The Porsche 911 Dakar and Lamborghini Huracรกn Sterrato, both engineered for off-road performance, have earned their reputations as icons of dirt and gravel. Yet, their abilities on asphalt have surprised everyone, proving they can hold their own on smooth surfaces as well. Today, these two lifted machines meet on a damp, unprepped airport runway โ a setting that promises unpredictable traction and plenty of drama.
The Porsche 911 Dakar, limited to just 2,500 units, is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six producing 480 hp and 570 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed PDK transmission. Weighing in at 1,605 kg, the Dakarโs off-road gear โ including a roof cage and chunky tires โ adds weight and drag, but also gives it the rugged versatility that defines it.

The Lamborghini Huracรกn Sterrato, meanwhile, sticks to its naturally aspirated roots. Its 5.2-liter V10 generates 610 hp and 560 Nm, channeled through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox to all four wheels. Officially, it weighs 1,470 kg dry; however, the actual figure is likely closer to 1,600 kg once fully equipped. Like the Dakar, it rides higher than its track-focused siblings, with body cladding and off-road tires that give it a distinct rally-inspired stance.

The race is set on a wet, unprepped airport runway, with added roof racks on the Porsche adding an extra challenge. From the start, traction proves tricky, and launches arenโt perfect, but both cars demonstrate remarkable speed for vehicles designed with off-road capability in mind.
