Modified 2006 Ford GT Gets Unleashed On Autobahn

It’s not often that we get to see the iconic Ford GT gets pushed to its limit on a public road. The Ford GT unquestionably stands as a motoring icon and is undeniably a supercar capable of reaching speeds exceeding 200 mph. However, there are very few roads that permit speeds beyond 100 mph, let alone 200. Thankfully, we have the folks at AutoTopNL to demonstrate that for us in this top speed run video.

The team at AutoTopNL got their hands on a modified 2006 Ford GT with Stage 1 tuning, which slightly boosted the output to 600 hp, and promptly decided to test its limits with a top-speed run on the Autobahn.

Even in its stock configuration, the Ford GT is far from sluggish. Its 5.4-liter all-aluminum V8 engine delivers 550 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. These power figures enable the car to accelerate to 62 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds, with double that time needed to reach 124 miles per hour. The top speed is rated at an impressive 205 mph.
