In the first part of this interview, Rick Hall told of his initial foray into the world of automotive engineering, firstly as a boy with the family business and eventually working for British Racing Motors. His BRM career was in two parts; his initial stint with Sir Alfred Owen and Tim Parnell, then with Louis Stanleyโ€”who he described as pompous, arrogant and self-opinionated. Just prior to the demise of BRM, Rick looked for pastures new and got together with BRM colleague Rob Fowler setting up Hall & Fowler, a race preparation and restoration business. In this second part of the interview, Vintage Racecarโ€™s European Editor, Mike Jiggle, discusses those early days of Hall and Fowler, Hallโ€™s relationship with the late Tom Wheatcroft, the past, present and future of historic motor racing and todayโ€™s business of Hall & Hall.
