Venerable Italian design house Style Bertone has finally succumbed to bankruptcy proceedings, after several years of looking for a financial angel to save the struggling carrozzeria. On June 4 an Italian court declared Gruppo Bertone bankrupt and began proceedings to sell off all of the company’s assets.
Despite over 100 years of creations that included iconic cars like the Lamborghini Miura and the Alfa Romeo Giulia Coupe, since 2009, Bertone had accumulated over $42 million in debt. It is rumored that Bertone’s entire collection of concept vehicles will be sold as a unit, sometime in the near future.
